南方财经全媒体记者李依农 马来西亚吉隆坡报道
Malaysia is the second largest tea export destination for China in 2022. The volume of tea exported to Malaysia in 2022 reached 9,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of nearly 28%, the export value amounted to US$284.71 million. China's tea exports to Malaysia have been maintaining steady growth since recent years, demonstrates the vibrancy of the Malaysia's tea consumption market.
Influences from China and India, combined with Malay customs, have shaped Malaysia’s unique tea culture. From Chinese tea ceremonies to masala chai and local delights like Teh Tarik, we see tea culture thrives in Malaysia. Clearly, tea is more than just a commodity, it is a carrier of culture that continues to bond people regardless of different backgrounds.
